Fatwa you, too!

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005

I’m stealing this headline from someone who stole it from someone else (so you know it’s good stuff): RADICAL CLERIC ISSUES FATWA TO KILL THE PRESIDENT.

God-lovin’ redneck all-around jackass Pat Robertson suggested the solution to the Hugo Chavez problem, whatever that might be is to off the populist Venezuelan president:

“You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it,” Robertson said. “It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war … and I don’t think any oil shipments will stop.”

In this country it’s illegal to even talk about harming the head of state, and if a foreigner (of some rank and/or fame) were to do so, it would just about be an act of war (hell, look what they did to the Dixie Chicks).

Of course, this from a guy that declared that feminism “encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians”.

What the hell??
